35 triathletes at the age of 18 years (AGE category) fought for the main awards of Grace Race-2018 (indoor). This was the Open Women's Championship of Almaty city, organized by the Almaty Triathlon Federation (ATF). Prior to that, women's competitions in the triathlon were not held in our country. The open status of the event made it possible to take part in it not only Kazakhstan but also foreign athletes.

- The main goal of our Championship is to popularize the triathlon among women, - said the Executive Director of the ATF, Ruslan Kogay. – Moreover, the IOC announced the real gender revolution in sport - 15 new kinds of sport, in which women participate, added to the program of the 2020 Olympic Games.

As for the Championship Grace Race, we can say that «it was held in one breath». Athletes were divided into three streams, while each had its own judge - throughout the whole distance, it not only tracked the results, but also maintained its “vis-à-vis”.

The main referee of the competitions was the Master of sports of the international class of the USSR in swimming, coach of the republican category - Yuliya Sinitsyna.

- Triathlon conquers women's hearts more and more, - says Yuliya. - Many ladies today come to this sport to shape themselves. Because these are cardio-loads that "dry" the body without pumping muscles; it's a bicycle that makes your feet chiseled; this is also swimming that gives a beautiful back and shoulders. In addition, the triathlon promotes personal growth, creates will and concentration.

Indeed, the format of the starts «Super-Sprint» (400 m - swimming, 10 km – bicycle stage, 3 km - running) did not allow relaxing even for a second. The woman went in very dense groups, and the backlog from the leaders was minimal.

Nevertheless, Kazakhstan athlete Saule Doszhanova was the best, her time - 29:32:21. Kamilya Syzdykova from Kyrgyzstan conceded quite a bit of time to the Champion (31:37:80); Aizada Tynalieva from Kyrgyzstan finished third (31:44:52).

- It's just great that Kazakhstan started holding women's starts! – rejoices Saule Doszhanova. – Our sport is not only very adventurous, but it is also spectacular! The female triathlon is aesthetically pleasing in everything, starting from the beauty of the distance to the bright fitting suits. There is something to see here!
