The race assumes its participants to run across mountainous terrain with a slight difference in altitude.

The 2023 Tau Jarys cross-country race and family festival will take place for the second time on this 21 May.

It is important to mention that Tau Jarys is not only a mountain run, but a family festival as well, which invites everyone to take part in the entertainment programme, enjoy delicious food and feel the vibrant atmosphere of the competition!

The new format of the run will be interesting to both advanced runners and newcomers. This year, the run offers children’s distance of 2 km (for those aged from 10 to 14) and adult’s distances of 6 and 12 km (for those aged 15 and over). It’s a great opportunity to try the new format.  The track will cross the picturesque terrain of the Alatau Ski & Biathlon Complex in Almaty Region. Just an hour’s drive from Almaty, participants will be able to spend an active weekend with their families or friends.

“Last year, we received a lot of enthusiastic feedback from participants and guests of our first Tau Jarys, so we decided to make this run an annual event,” comments Saltanat Kazybayeva, Organiser, Director of “Courage to be the First” Corporate Fund. “We are focusing on even greater results and ready to hold the competition on a new grand scale. Tau Jarys is a real sport festival, where its participants and guests can come with their families, have a good time, enjoy the atmosphere, socialise with sports fans, participate in various activities and have a delicious lunch.”
