A Kazakhstani breaststroke swimmer, 2016 Olympic champion in a 200 m breaststroke, a triple champion of the 2014 Asian Games, a winner of the 2015 Universiade. A holder of Kazakh records in the 50, 100 and 200 m breaststroke, an Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2016). A winner of the Olympic gold medal, which is Kazakhstan’s first-ever medal in a swimming event.
