The Organizers announced open registration for the traditional seasonal race of “Almaty Marathon” – Winter Race. It will take place on February 24 in the Park of the First President.
All race lovers have to pass on-line registration at www.almaty-marathon.kz and pay the entry fee. The main distance is 10 km by the Park roads. The paired relay race for teams (men and women) is provided for – 5 km for each and children distance of 3 km for the participants from 10 to 14 years old.
- This year for the first time we allot 1 000 slots for Winter Race and we reckon on full taking out thereof. All previous seasonal races of “Almaty Marathon”, which have been conducted since the year 2014, had been established with the limit of 650 persons. Registration for the last several races has been closed within just 3-4 days, and for the children distance – within several hours. Now, when the number of slots is much higher I think that all wishing may take part in the well-loved competition – told Saltanat Kazybayeva, the Director of “Almaty Marathon”.
The total prize fund will amount 200 000 tenge. It will be distributed among the participants, who will show the first 3 best results in the absolute score among men and women. All participants at finish will get the medals, and the winners (from the 1st to 3rd place) will get the prize medals, diplomas and presents from the partners.
From January 20 till April 14 every Saturday “Almaty Marathon” conducts open training sessions for all wishing in the Park of the First President – from 10 to 11 o’clock in the morning, admission free. The training sessions are conducted by the experienced trainer from the school of cyclic sports Nikita Fedotovskikh according to the specially developed plan, comprising the combined developing exercises and special running exercises for development of speed and endurance at any distances.
The Winter Races will become the first seasonal race this year in the cycle of preparation for the International charitable “Almaty Marathon” to be held on April 22 for the seventh time. Registration for the most large-scale sport event in Central Asia is already open at the web-site of “Almaty Marathon”.
