On 14 July, Atakent Exhibition Center territory hosted Summer Race – a seasonal competition, which is held in the framework of the preparation for the annual international Almaty Marathon. 1000 brave sportsmen, who were not afraid of the heat, came to the start line and successfully covered their distances.
At the children's distance (3 km) the fastest were Danil Porodnov and Adiya Kadyrova. Danil was faster than Adiya, the leader among the girls only for 2 minutes and ran with the result of 11 minutes 16 seconds.
The participants of the main distance for 12 km had the real struggle for the first place. After all, the three leaders among men and women competed not only for memorable souvenirs, but also for 200 thousand tenge prize money. It was shared by the following participants:

The Almaty marathon team plans to hold several running, triathlon and cycling competitions until the end of the year. On August 4-5, the Asian Triathlon Cup will be held for the first time, organized by the Almaty Triathlon Federation together with the Almaty Marathon. On August 19, the cycling race of Tour of World Class Almaty will start, and after it the Kazakhstan Powerlifting Championships will be held on September 15-16. Running competitions will continue in October - in the autumn there will be a Half Marathon, Women's and Autumn Races.
