The seasonal racing competition “Almaty Marathon” took place on the threshold of the World Day of Diabetes Management. The young racers of Dia Club and Public Fund “Family Health” took part in the children startup.
The competitors at the children 2 km distance together with children with diabetes mellitus started the first, and at the finish line they were expected by the special prizes from our partners – regardless the competition results. The starting signal at the main 10 km distance was given at 10 o’clock for the participants of the individual racing competition, relay race and Nordic Walking.
Yakov Terekhin and Yana Arslanova won the first awards among children. The absolute winners are Mikhail Krasilov and Aida Yesterekova. The first 3 finishers with the best results in the male and female competition shared the total prize fund amounting 200 000 tenge, and the winners of the competitions in their age categories received the prized from our partners.
The Autumn Racing Competition Results
- The record number of participants – more than 650 persons, took part in the Autumn Racing Competition. We are happy that once again the racing competition took place at the threshold of World Day of Diabetes Management. Jointly with Sanofi Company the large-scale information campaign on diabetes mellitus prophylactics. Sport and healthy style of life may significantly decrease the disease statistics, - shared Saltanat Kazybayeva, the Director of “Almaty Marathon”.
- Today with support of Sanofi before the Autumn Racing Competition the flash mob took place. The participants of the flash mob with the blue air-balloons organized the blue circle, being the symbol of the World Day of Diabetes Management, with the purpose to improve awareness of diabetes problems and attraction of attention to the acute problem of high incidence of this disease in Kazakhstan. I would like to mention that Sanofi company carries out active social activities aiming at diabetes management. We call to pay special attention to prophylactic measures and healthy life style, - commented the Chairman of the Management Board of “Sanofi Kazakhstan” Ranga Welaratne.
The autumn racing competition was the final racing even of “Almaty Marathon” in the year 2017. The next competition will be the Winter Racing Competition, traditionally starting in February, and already on January 1 the registration for participation in “Almaty Marathon” will open, which will take place on April 22 for the seventh time already.
